X Company: 6 Reasons to tune into Season 2 now
One of Canada’s most critically acclaimed television shows, CBC’s X Company, seems to be in no danger of a sophomore slump. From what I can tell, the espionage drama from Flashpoint creators Mark Ellis and Stephanie Morgenstern, is firing on all cylinders and has returned back and better than ever in Season 2. After a frenetic Season 2 premiere that saw the action pick up immediately, X Company shows no signs of slowing down this week. With Alfred (Jack Laskey) still in the evil hands of Franz Faber (Torben Liebrecht) and company, the big question looming over everyone’s head is whether or not he’ll succumb to the pressure and break? Canadian TV needs X Company
I sat down to watch the first new episode of X Company on CBC-TV Wednesday night. And it reminded me once again how Canadian stories are disappearing on Canadian TV with alacrity.

A teacher friend of mine was telling me the other day her students were not quite sure what countries Canada was fighting during World War II. And asked to name the first five prime ministers of Canada? Nobody could do it. And why be surprised?

Canadian channels have become vast wastelands of conventional American imported fare that the networks can buy for cheap prices. Continue reading.
