Everything about Lost Girl, eh?

Comments and queries for the week of Oct. 17

I loved Dark Angel, which has become a reference point for Sheldon on The Big Bang Theory, but I need Bo and the Lost Girl gang. We need strong, independent women and sensitive, nurturing men. We need, in these dark political times, a glimmer of hope. We need the voices that say, “I make my own choices.” Please help the millions of fans who didn’t know they could vote. Bring Bo back!!–Karen

Thanks for your support for Lost Girl, but our poll wasn’t to bring the show back, just which Canadian one you’d go into a cage match for. Production has already wrapped on the final season.

Hey Max & Shred, I’m a big fan of your show! Love, your biggest fan.–Andrea

Thanks for the note, Andrea. You can reach the boys via @JonnyGrayy, @JakeGoodman9 or @maxandshred.

Will UpTV be showing the new season of Heartland? I am in the Miami area and so far I have just seen repeats.–Patty

Hey Patty, thanks for writing in. UpTV is a little behind the CBC here in Canada: Season 7 is currently being broadcast with no plans for Season 8 yet.

I am disappointed in how the interesting scripts that deal with horses of all kinds was taken over by people drama on Oct 12th. I loved Heartland up until now, but my family members agreed that we missed all the beautiful horses this time with their stories. Something was missing in this episode and it was the horses! The part that we love! We also love the people, but everyone was having stress and problems … too much for one episode of a family show.–Andree

From Mandi Bierly of Entertainment Weekly:

‘Lost Girl’ star Anna Silk on the show ending after season 5
“Honestly, I thought we might get one more, but I knew that this could be the last season,” Silk tells EW. “It’s time, in a way. In terms of the story, I think we could have done another. Fan Expo Canada highlights Murdoch Mysteries and Showcase stars

FanExpoSpanning comics, sci-fi, horror, anime and gaming, Fan Expo Canada is the largest such event in Canada and the third largest in North America. Organizers expect more than 125,000 fans over the four-day event from August 28-31 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, and some of them will be there for Canadian TV stars.

Among the CanCon  is a spotlight on Degrassi (stretching the genre definition unless it’s taken a turn since I last watched), the upcoming Killjoys, plus Lost Girl, Bitten and Total Drama Island.

The Expo ends with The Two Captains — Patrick Stewart and William Shatner — fresh off the debut of HBO Canada’s William Shatner Presents: Chaos on the Bridge.

TV, eh?‘s own Greg David will be moderating two panels at Fan Expo Canada on Saturday, one for Murdoch Mysteries and one for stars of Showcase’s biggest shows including Lost Girl and Haven.

Meet the stars of this season’s Showcase television series

Greg will lead Anna Silk (Lost Girl), Lucas Bryant (Haven), Kyra Zagorsky (Helix) and Trenna Keating (Defiance) in a discussion of the sci-fi genre and its popularity.

Meet the cast of Murdoch Mysteries

Following the Showcase panel, Greg will host a panel and Q&A session with the cast of Murdoch Mysteries, which will include an exclusive preview of Season 8. Expected to attend are Hélène Joy (Dr. Julia Ogden), Jonny Harris (Constable George Crabtree), Georgina Reilly (Dr. Emily Grace), Arwen Humphreys (Margaret Brackenreid) and Lachlan Murdoch (Constable Henry Higgins).
