This summer, winter is comin’: Season 3 of CraveTV’s smash-hit original comedy Letterkenny launches Canada Day

Turn up the A/C and slap on a turtleneck ‘cause another six-pack of LETTERKENNY drops July 1 on Crave TV and it’s got way more chill. It’s winter in Letterkenny, and what better way to celebrate 150 years of confederation than to complain about winter in the summer. Back at the farm, the produce stand gets swapped out for a sled shack; Letterkenny’s beloved, burned-down watering hole Modeans reopens as Modeans 2; the Skids clown around with a mysterious new presence; the Hockey Players are officially stars of the otherwise hapless Letterkenny Irish; Katy is back from the city; and the rest of the Hicks are pretty much doing the same thing they always do. Guest starring this season is Keeso’s 19-2 co-star, Adrian Holmes. Winner of the 2017 Canadian Screen Award for Best Actor in a Drama Series for 19-2, Holmes plays Modeans bouncer Bradley. As well, acclaimed actress Sarah Gadon (Enemy) rolls into Letterkenny as mysterious lady Skid, Gae.

LETTERKENNY revolves around the dustups Wayne (Keeso) and his buds get into with their small-town Ontario rivals. The Hicks, The Skids, and The Hockey Players get at each other about the most mundane things, often ending with someone getting their ass kicked. Wayne, his best bud Daryl (Nathan Dales, Goon: Last of the Enforcers), Wayne’s free-spirited younger sister Katy (Michelle Mylett, El Camino Christmas), and Wayne’s buddy, Dan (K Trevor Wilson, JEFF ROSS PRESENTS: ROAST BATTLE) are all Hicks. CSA-nominated Daniel Petronijevic (19-2) returns as Hick McMurray. Dylan Playfair (HATERS BACK OFF) and Andrew Herr (Goon: Last of the Enforcers) reprise their roles as hotshot Hockey Players “Jonesy” and “Reilly”. Tyler Johnston (MOTIVE) and Evan Stern (RoboCop) return as Skids Stewart and Roald. Lisa Codrington (COPPER) returns as bartender, Gail, and Jacob Tierney (The Trotsky) as the Christian leader Glen. Mark Forward (FARGO) returns as the temperamental Coach of Letterkenny Irish and Tiio Horn (WHAT WOULD SAL DO?) is back as badass leader of The Natives.

Season 2 of LETTERKENNY launched Christmas Day as the most-watched title on CraveTV, eclipsing its own Season 1 for record viewers. The entire first two seasons, as well as the rowdy “St. Perfect’s Day” special, remain CraveTV’s most consistent top performers each and every day.

Season 1 of LETTERKENNY took home three 2017 Canadian Screen Awards: Best Comedy Series, Best Writing in a Comedy Program or Series, and Best Direction in a Comedy Program or Series. As well, series creator Jared Keeso and co-writer and director Jacob Tierney took home a Writers Guild of Canada Screenwriting Award for TV Comedy. Seasons 1 and 2 are currently streaming on CraveTV and Season 1 is also available on iTunes and Google Play.

Wynonna Earp, Letterkenny and X Company top WGC Screenwriting Awards

Writers for Wynonna Earp, Letterkenny, X Company and Degrassi: Next Class were among the winners at the 21st Annual Writers Guild of Canada Screenwriting Awards in Toronto on Monday night.

The event, held at the Telus Centre for Performance and Learning’s Koerner Hall, celebrated the country’s screenwriting talent in television and film. Wynonna Earp writer Alexandra Zarowny (pictured above) won Best Script from a Rookie Series for her Season 1 script “Bury Me With My Guns On,” and thanked her fellow writers and fans for their support.

“There is an entire writing room behind this award,” she said. “This goes to James Hurst, Brendan Yorke, Caitlyn D. Fryers and Emily Andras. I love you, Em, and as the last five years have shown, I’ll follow you anywhere. And to all our social media fans, Wynonna Earp is the little engine that could and I’m so proud of this little demon-hunting show and the LGBTQ community was a huge, fierce, loud and proud part of that. They got a second season made.”

Letterkenny‘s Jared Keeso and Jacob Tierney won the TV Comedy for their Season 1 script, “Super Soft Birthday,” while X Company‘s Stephanie Morgenstern and Mark Ellis took home a trophy for the Season 2 episode, “August 19th.”

Comedian and writer Laurie Elliott hosted, getting the night off on the right foot. “To all the writers in the room, look at us in our outside clothes!” she began. “This is a fancy party to celebrate writers.”

Andrew Wreggitt was the recipient of The Denis McGrath Award for his service to the Writers Guild of Canada, Aaron Martin was given the Showrunner Award, Diana Frances the Sondra Kelly Award and Daniel Whidden the Jim Burt Screenwriting Prize.

Tarps On LETTERKENNY Fans! Production Begins on Frosty Season 3 of CraveTV’s Smash-Hit Original Comedy

CraveTV and Wayne announced today that production has begun on Season 3 of its most-watched, Canadian Screen Award-nominated series, LETTERKENNY. Created by and starring Jared Keeso, the half-hour “refreshing and intoxicating” small town comedy is produced by New Metric Media in partnership with DHX Media, and shoots on location in and around Sudbury, ON.

Set to launch later this year, the newest LETTERKENNY six-pack promises to be nicely chilled as The Hicks, The Skids, and The Hockey Players mix-it-up in the dead of winter. Season 3 comes complete with snowmobiling, ice fishing, and dealing with a bunch of degenerates from up country. Sarah Gadon (Maps to the Stars) guest stars this season as new lady Skid, Gae. Additional LETTERKENNY casting will be announced in the coming weeks.

As previously announced, CraveTV is dropping an all-new, soon- to-be-iconic St. Patrick’s Day episode on Friday, March 17. In case ya missed it, here’s a tease of the hicks after they return from an epic all-nighter in the episode.
