Canada chooses first bachelor for W Network’s Bachelorette Canada

After a two-week campaign with fans voting across the country, today Corus Entertainment’s W Network reveals that Eddie, an Oilfield Logistics Coordinator of Saint John, New Brunswick has been chosen as Canada’s Crush for the first ever season of The Bachelorette Canada. Eddie and 19 other bachelors will vie for a rose in The Bachelorette Canada, premiering this fall on W Network.

Fighting for his chance at love, Eddie campaigned for Canada’s votes against bachelor hopefuls: Andrew, 29, General Contractor from Ottawa and Lachlan, 26, Physical Education Teacher from Exeter, Ontario.

All of his life, Eddie has worked hard and played harder. Starting out as a labourer in the lucrative (but highly competitive) oil patch, he divided his time between grueling stints on the rigs and serious party time on the ski slopes and beaches with his friends and family. Today, Eddie’s unwavering work ethic and positive attitude have paid off in a big way, landing him a spot at head office (where he is by far the youngest – and most handsome! – face around). But his ride to the top came at a price, leaving him little time to build lasting relationships and find true love.

In the Canadian version of this smash-hit reality series, Canada’s most eligible bachelorette is in search of the man of her dreams – and hopefully her groom-to-be. The Canadian Bachelorette will search for love as 20 men do whatever it takes to win her heart. The male suitors compete for the Bachelorette’s affection via individual and group dates involving local and far-flung romantic encounters and adventures in exotic locations around the world. As the Bachelorette narrows the field and the number of men dwindles, romance and tensions will rise. Ultimately, she will choose the one man with whom she wants to spend the rest of her life.

The Bachelorette Canada is produced by Good Human Productions Inc. From Good Human Productions, Claire Freeland serves as Executive Producer and Keely Booth is Showrunner. For Corus Entertainment, John MacDonald is the Executive Vice President of Television and Head of Women’s and Family Television and Maria Farano is Director of Original Programming for Women’s and Family Television. W Network Wants You to Help us Cast One of Our 20 Bachelors for The Bachelorette Canada

Corus Entertainment’s W Network announced today the Canada’s Crush contest for the first ever season of The Bachelorette Canada. Beginning February 11 through to February 25, fans can cast their votes for one of three potential bachelors at wnetwork.com/CanadasCrush. The winner will be announced on March 7 and will join the additional 19 bachelors as they vie for a rose in The Bachelorette Canada,premiering this fall on W Network.

The three Canada’s Crush bachelors are: Andrew, 29, General Contractor, from Ottawa, Ontario; Eddie, 32, Oilfield Logistics Coordinator, from Saint John, New Brunswick; and Lachlan, 26, Phys. Ed Teacher, from Exeter, Ontario. Beginning February 11, bios and videos of the three hopeful bachelors will be available at wnetwork.com/CanadasCrush.

A carpenter by trade, Andrew is definitely a hands-on kind of guy. Whether it’s in front of the camera as a model for major brands (including Nike) or on TV (as a handyman on W Network’s Homewreckers), Andrew is always confident and self-assured. Hardworking, driven and loyal, Andrew’s outlook on life and love was shaped at eight years old, when his father left the family. Their rocky, on-again-off-again relationship has taught him to take love and commitment very seriously. He wants a partner who will stand by his side for the long haul, because when he commits to that special someone it will be forever.

All-New Episodes of Love It or List It Vancouver Set to Air on W Network

Big Coat Productions is excited to announce that all-new episodes of Love It or List It Vancouver Season 3 are back and will start airing Monday, February 8 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on W Network. The hit TV series, hosted by designer Jillian Harris and real estate expert Todd Talbot, returns with 13 all-new episodes, showcasing Vancouver homeowners faced with one of the biggest decisions of their life, can they stay in their existing home and learn to love it or should they pack it in and list it? Production on Season 4 is currently underway and is set to premiere in Fall of 2016 on W Network.

Every episode of Love It or List It Vancouver takes viewers on an emotional roller-coaster as homeowners across the lower mainland welcome the charismatic co-hosts into their homes to battle it out for bragging rights while the family decides whether to “love it” or “list it.” Jillian must catch the homeowners’ wandering eyes with a show-stopping renovation and Todd must woo them away into a dreamy house on the market in BC’s largest metropolitan city.

The Bachelorette Canada Launches National Casting Tour in Search of the Country’s Most Eligible Bachelors

W Network is on the hunt for Canada’s most eligible bachelors. Beginning Tuesday, January 19 through to Tuesday, January 26, The Bachelorette Canada hits the road in search of charming, adventurous, charismatic men looking for true love that are up for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The Bachelorette Canada is travelling across the country, with open casting calls being held in Vancouver (January 19), Calgary (January 21), Winnipeg (January 22), Toronto (January 23 and 24), Montréal (January 25), and Halifax (January 26).

Buying the View reaches new heights in high-end homes

Television series about home buying are a dime a dozen, but Buying the View takes the genre to new, unexplored heights. Debuting on W Network with two back-to-back episodes on Tuesday, the program focuses on properties with killer vistas, whether that be the water, mountains or the city.

“It’s a catch-22 in a city like Toronto,” says Jay Egan, who works out of Toronto’s Forest Hill Real Estate. “In Vancouver the view is never going to change, but in Toronto your property better be 40 storeys or more because of the redevelopment that goes on. Your client is relying on you to find something where the view isn’t going to change.” Egan is one of a handful of realtors charged with finding the perfect plot for their clients in episodes that jet to Whistler, B.C., Miami, Manhattan, Toronto, Oakville, Ont., the Niagara and Muskoka regions of Ontario and Vancouver. 

Tuesday’s debut stop is in Whistler, where a couple yearns for a home that ticks everything on their list, including being able to lay eyes on water, mountains and a glacier. Egan, meanwhile, first appears in Episode 6, helping Vancouver father Mark find a Toronto property he can use during business trips east and for his daughter, Julia, to stay in while she’s at university. Mark’s budget? A cool $10 million thanks to a successful career in the gold industry. In the running are three prime locations, including a spot in tony Yorkville and a condo in the Trump International Hotel & Tower. The trio have one thing in common: killer views of the city. Of course, part of the fun of watching Buying the View is trying to figure out which location the clients will pick, and Mark and Julia’s choice might surprise.

Egan, who is in the midst of hunting down a first home for his daughter, became slotted into the niche market of high-end home sales because his clientele trends that way due to referrals. He appears in two more Season 1 instalments, unveiling properties in Southern Ontario.

“These are very different properties because the clients are looking for different things,” he says. “In both of those episodes, the wife wants a house and the husband wants a condo, so we go back and forth on that. People want everything, and that’s truly possible.”
