There are animals and interviews to discover on Crave’s The Tom Green Farm

By Scott Campbell

“I was on a farm,” Tom Green says during a phone interview. “I thought, ‘We should do a show here.’ And then it just unravelled from there.”

The one thought led to the newest Crave original series, The Tom Green Farm, produced by Tom Green Productions Canada Inc. in association with Crave, premiering on Friday.

The 10-episode first season is set in rural Ontario, on a 150-acre lot that features Green’s farmhouse, built in 1857.

“I think the biggest surprise is the fact that I have these amazing big animals now that are part of our family,” he says.

“My wife and I look after this giant 1,500-pound mule and horses. It’s a whole new experience I never really, frankly, imagined growing up. I would have these big donkeys and horses living with us,” he continues. “They’re so friendly, and they sort of become kind of connected with you, it’s not an inanimate object that’s there. They actually know you, and I know them, and we trust each other, and we spend time with each other.”

“It’s really a kind of moving experience every day when you realize these animals are our friends, and we all love each other.”

Green was born in Pembroke, Ontario, but remembers living in Petawawa—calling himself a “military brat”—and going to school there. He noted his father was a captain in the Canadian Armed Forces, so the family moved around a lot.

The time in Petawawa has led to Green’s induction into the Petawawa Sports and Entertainment Hall of Fame, scheduled for June. This is thanks to a suggestion by singer Jason Blaine made to Mayor Gary Serviss.

“We’ll be going up there and having a fun time in our old stomping grounds for sure,” he says.

The mention of Jason Blaine is because he is also one of the guests who visits The Tom Green Farm in Season 1. The media release mentions guest names such as Amber Marshall, Jay Baruchel, Michael Cera (pictured above), Chantal Kreviazuk, The Tragically Hip’s Paul Langlois, Steven Page, Priyanka, Jessie Reyez and George Stroumboulopoulos.

“We had Tony Hawk [and Kevin Stabb] on the show,” said Green. “We built a skateboard ramp that was sort of an incredible experience for me, being a skateboarder growing up. We had Dan Aykroyd on the show, a legendary entertainer, and it was just sort of an honour to have him come out to the farm.”

Really, all the guests surprised Green because they made the effort to show up in the middle of the wilderness.

“I think it really bleeds into the interviews and the show because people are having fun and excited to be out in nature and exploring the rural countryside,” he says.

Green has gained a few interview experiences through the years. He mentioned being a guest host for David Letterman on The Late Show, a guest host for Larry King and, of course, hosting The Tom Green Show, and he built a studio in his living room for a show called Webovision.

Green is happy with the completion of this current project, now that it’s all put together and ready to be unleashed into the world. A lot of work was put into it, as it’s been a labour of love.

“It’s almost like a cinematic film shoot type thing,” he says. “There are really a lot of technical aspects of it, and now that we have everybody to see life on the farm and all of our amazing guests that came out.”

The Tom Green Farmcast is also launching on iHeartRadio Canada the same day the series premieres, serving as a companion piece.

“If you want to watch the show in its entirety, you should watch it on Crave,” Green says. “But if you’re driving in your car and it comes on iHeartRadio, you can hear a great interview with Dan Aykroyd or one of our guests, and hopefully that’ll make you go get Crave. If you don’t have Crave already, watch the show because it’s a lot of fun.”

The Tom Green Farm debuts Friday on Crave. Following the debut, two episodes will be released every Friday.

Crave original The Tom Green Farm delivers big stars & rural charm in new talk show, May 29

From a media release:

Stars are trading green rooms for green pastures in the all-new Crave Original series, THE TOM GREEN FARM, which offers a fresh approach to the talk format away from the typical desk and couch. Hosted by beloved Canadian comedian, actor, and filmmaker Tom Green, the 10-episode, hour long unscripted series launches May 29 with the first two episodes followed by two all-new episodes released every Friday.

Produced by Tom Green Productions Canada Inc. in association with Crave, THE TOM GREEN FARM blends candid celebrity interviews with the humour, unpredictability, and charm of country living. Set against the backdrop of Green’s traditional farmhouse built in 1857 on a sprawling 150-acre lot in rural Ontario, the series invites guests into an unfiltered, immersive experience where conversations unfold alongside hay bales, livestock, and farm-inspired chaos.

Beyond the celebrity interviews, THE TOM GREEN FARM also offers a comedic and surprisingly personal look at Tom’s new life on a rural Canadian farm. Alongside his wife Amanda, Tom navigates the day-to-day realities of country living, caring for horses, a mule, a donkey, chickens, guinea hens, and the endless, often unpredictable challenges that come with running a farm. Viewers also reconnect with Tom’s beloved parents, who now hilariously turn the tables on him, reversing the dynamic from his MTV days when they were often the targets of his pranks. Over the course of the season, viewers see Tom step into a completely different chapter of life, from learning to become a confident horseman to marking major personal milestones, including his marriage.

Guests at the farm include Dan Aykroyd, Jay Baruchel; comedian Ahren Belisle; Canadian professional ice hockey analyst and former NHL player Paul “Biz Nasty” Bissonnette; Canadian country music singer-songwriter Jason Blaine; Michael Cera; music producer/DJ DeadMau5; comedian/actor Jon Dore; writer/actress and former MuchMusic VJ Erica Ehm; Phil Giroux and Glenn Humplik from THE TOM GREEN FARM; skateboard legends Tony Hawk and Kevin Staab; Canadian comedy writer, filmmaker and television personality and comedian Kenny Hotz (KENNY VS. SPENNY); Amanda Kendall from Useless Farm; Chantal Kreviazuk; Paul Langlois of The Tragically Hip; Telepathic Sasquatch and Bigfoot Communicator Graham MacSkimming; actress Amber Marshall (HEARTLAND); singer-songwriter and former Barenaked Ladies frontman Steven Page; drag superstar Priyanka (CANADA’S DRAG RACE: ALL STARS); Grammy® nominated and JUNO-winning artist Jessie Reyez; veteran broadcaster, former MuchMusic VJ and Order of Canada recipient George Stroumboulopoulos; survival expert Les Stroud (SURVIVORMAN); singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer Kurt Vile, and more.

On the series premiere, Tom’s mother Mary Jane and wife Amanda push him with a not-so-subtle message: to renovate the dated kitchen. Meanwhile, outside, a massive 12-foot vert ramp is rising from the pasture — a surprise build for skate legends Tony Hawk and Kevin Staab. As the crew races to finish construction, Tom introduces viewers to the farm, including Fanny the mule, Kiah the donkey, and horses Alora and Aria. When Tony and Kevin arrive, they sit down with Tom to reflect on the early outlaw days of skateboarding, and how the sport evolved into a global phenomenon. Then, with neighbours gathered and cameras rolling, the newly built 12-foot vert ramp comes alive.

Episode 2 begins at sunrise with Tom tending to the farm and proudly showing his parents and fiancée Amanda the solar-powered podcast studio he’s built in the barn loft, before welcoming world-renowned drag superstar Priyanka (CANADA’S DRAG RACE: ALL STARS, DRAG BRUNCH SAVED MY LIFE) — who dives headfirst into farm life with canoeing, and an attempt to drive a tractor. She also delivers Tom’s first-ever Tarot card reading. It’s mystical. It’s chaotic. It’s farm chic. Later, Michael Cera drops by from a nearby film set, where he’s directing a project starring Pamela Anderson and Steve Coogan. While feeding apples to the livestock, Tom and Michael talk filmmaking, creative risk, and working close to home. The episode closes on a heartfelt reunion between Tom and his yearling foal Aria, after six months apart as she was being weaned on a nearby farm.

Crave also announced today that viewers will be treated to a number of digital extras for the series. Crave’s YouTube™ channel (@CraveCanada) will roll out companion videos throughout the season, providing fans with a social extension of the series featuring unforgettable moments with Tom and his guests. The social and digital content takes viewers inside key moments on the farm and includes extended interviews – offering a window into the farm for Tom’s vibrant YouTube™ community.

Expanding on the unique blend of candid conversation and rural charm, it was also announced today the brand-new original podcast THE TOM GREEN FARMCAST, launching on iHeartRadio Canada and everywhere podcasts are found. Hosted by Tom Green, the weekly podcast dropping May 29 is an audio and video companion that dives deeper into the offbeat world of the farm, offering extended conversations with Tom and his guests, behind-the-scenes stories from the production, and Green’s signature comedic take on everything from country living to the entertainment industry. Listeners can expect the same unfiltered honesty and hilarious anecdotes, perhaps with even more hay bale-related mishaps and animal sound effects, as Tom continues to explore life, comedy, and connection from his Ontario farmhouse.

THE TOM GREEN FARM marks the first title from Bell Media’s previously announced co-development deal with Green, who also co-starred in the hit Crave Original comedy THE TRADES, which earned Green a 2026 Canadian Screen Award nomination for Best Guest Performance, Comedy for his role as ‘Randy Bennett’.

THE TOM GREEN FARM is produced by Tom Green Productions Canada Inc. in association with Crave. Executive producers are Tom Green, Rory Rosegarten, and Justin Stockman. Producers are Mary Jane Green, Grace Reeves, and Jay Bond. Alan Goldman serves as Associate Producer. The series is written by Tom Green and Mary Jane Green and is produced with the participation of the Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit. All episodes are directed by Tom Green.

From the producers of Trailer Park Boys, the well-oiled and witty new Crave original comedy The Trades premieres March 22

From a media release:

As revealed last night during TSN and CTV’s broadcast of SUPER BOWL LVIII, Crave’s new original comedy series, THE TRADES, debuts Friday, March 22. From Trailer Park Boys Inc. and Kontent House Productions Inc., the eight-part comedy series is a love letter to skilled-trade workers, written with grit, humour, and heart.

Set in a blue-collar community where the high stress of working in a refinery is balanced by the comedic high-wire antics of its plant workers, THE TRADES centres around Todd (Robb Wells), a pipefitter, and his sister and roommate, Audrey (Anastasia Phillips, MOONSHINE), who follows in her big brother’s footsteps pursuing a career in the trades as a carpenter, just like their father Rod (Patrick McKenna, THE RED GREEN SHOW). The first two episodes of THE TRADES drop on Friday, March 22, followed by two new episodes on subsequent Fridays for the duration of the run.

While Todd loves his life, he dreams of climbing the corporate ladder and becoming site manager at Conch Industries, which isn’t too far-fetched, given the current manager Bennett’s (Tom Green, THE TOM GREEN SHOW) chaotic lifestyle. But Todd’s future, and that of the plant and the entire town, is thrown into question when Chelsea (Jennifer Spence, YOU ME HER), an ambitious young executive from head office announces she’s the new site manager, and vows to make some changes.

In the season premiere, Todd works overtime to get a new robotic welding arm up and running, to improve the refinery’s productivity. Audrey debates joining the “family business” and an incident at work opens a job in management, reigniting Todd’s leadership aspirations.

In the second episode, Todd’s crew gives him a makeover to help him dress for the job he wants. His odds at a promotion look promising, until head office sends hot-shot executive Chelsea, to the refinery. Meanwhile, Audrey potentially blows her chances at joining the trades when she tries to save her big bro from humiliation.

THE TRADES is a Trailer Park Boys Inc. and Kontent House Productions Inc. co-production, in association with Bell Media’s Crave. The series is distributed by Rollercoaster Entertainment with Blink49 representing U.S. licensing. Ryan J. Lindsay is creator, writer/executive producer; Shelley Eriksen is writer/executive producer; Warren Sonoda is director; Gary Howsam is executive producer; and Jonathan A. Walker and Robb Wells are producers. John Morayniss and Virginia Rankin are executive producers for Blink49 Studios. Co-executive producers are Andrew McMichael, Angelo Paletta, Ross Mrazek, and Benjamin Rappaport. Series casting is by Marjorie Lecker; cinematographer is Jeff Wheaton; production designer is Michael Pierson; costume designer is Sarah Dunsworth-Nickerson; composer is Jonathan Goldsmith; editors are Sarah Byrne and Jeremy Harty.

Production underway on the all-new Crave original comedy, The Trades

From a media release:

Crave, in association with Rollercoaster Entertainment and Blink49 Studios, announced today that production is underway in Nova Scotia on the Crave Original comedy series, THE TRADES. From the producers of TRAILER PARK BOYS, THE TRADES is an eight-part, 30-minute, comedy set in a working-class community, where the stress and high risks of working in a refinery are balanced by the comedic, high-wire antics of the plant workers. The series will be available in English and French.

“From the moment I first read the pilot two years ago, I was immediately drawn to Ryan J. Lindsay’s vision for the series,” said Robb Wells, star and producer, THE TRADES. “I love all of the colourful characters, the backdrop, and especially, the different types of humour associated with each trade. It’s amazing to see the team come together, including an unbelievably talented cast and crew. It’s going to be so much fun, and I am very excited.”

THE TRADES centres around Todd Stool (Robb Wells, TRAILER PARK BOYS), a pipefitter who is proud of his working-class background, and collection of big boy toys. His sister, and roommate, Audrey (Anastasia Phillips, MOONSHINE), decides to follow in her big brother’s footsteps and pursue a career in the trades as a carpenter, just like their father Rod (Patrick McKenna, THE RED GREEN SHOW). While Todd loves his life, he dreams of climbing the corporate ladder and becoming site manager at Conch Industries – which isn’t so far-fetched, given the current site manager Bennett’s, (Tom Green, THE TOM GREEN SHOW) lifestyle. But Todd’s future, that of the plant—and the town, are thrown into question when Chelsea (Jennifer Spence, YOU ME HER), an ambitious young executive sent from head office, announces she is the new site manager, and vows to make some changes.

Rounding out Todd’s rag-tag crew are: Jimi (Enrico Colantoni, VERONICA MARS); Dewey (Jason Daley, TRAILER PARK BOYS); Homer (Jesse Camacho, LOCKE & KEY); Backwoods (Daniel Petronijevic, LETTERKENNY); Taser (Brandon Oakes, DIGGSTOWN); Medhi, the Chief Engineer (Raoul Bhaneja, BLINDSPOT); and Steph the Safety Chick (Susan Kent, THIS HOUR HAS 22 MINUTES). Together, they balance the high risks of working in an oil refinery with bawdy nicknames, elaborate pranks, and jokes to amuse and enrage one another – but must work together if they want to save their livelihood and protect their community.

THE TRADES is co-produced by Trailer Park Boys Inc. and Kontent House Inc. in association with Bell Media’s Crave, with the participation of the Nova Scotia Film & Television Production Incentive Fund, and the assistance of the Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit and Ontario Creates. The series is distributed by Rollercoaster Entertainment and Blink49 is the exclusive U.S. sales agent. Ryan J. Lindsay is creator, writer, and executive producer; Shelley Eriksen is writer and executive producer; Warren Sonoda is director; Gary Howsam is executive producer; and Jonathan A. Walker and Robb Wells are producers. John Morayniss and Virginia Rankin are executive producers for Blink49 Studios. Co-executive producers are Andrew McMichael, Angelo Paletta, Ross Mrazek, and Ben Rappaport.
