All the [Murdoch Mysteries] fans are anxious to see what happens for Season 11 and which characters survive. It is so much suspense and thrilling. I look forward to the episodes in Season 11 in September 2017. However, probably the episodes for Season 11 will not be shown on Acorn TV till January of 2018. I have college and NFL football seasons at least to keep me busy. —Jean

Love this show and my husband and I just love the witty banter between the characters. Agreed that this is all a ruse and that they need time to go after the bad dudes. All in all best show on TV and looking forward to the upcoming season. —Helen

I am so happy that Mary Kills People is being renewed! It opens up to a subject that MANY people have thought about, but no one talks about. And it shows ALL the sides to the issues that arise when someone is terminally ill. VERY well written, and I hope it goes on for many more seasons! —Debbie

That’s a shame [about You Gotta Eat Here! being cancelled]. A fun show and I have seen many posters in little places across the country [reading] “Featured on You Gotta Eat Here.” Clearly the show was connecting with fans and eateries everywhere. Congrats to John and the team for a solid run of five years. Since this is Canada, that’s like a 20-year run in another country. —Gary

The cancellation of YGEH sucks! Loved John Catucci and used the show’s recommendations during our retirement travels. We will miss it for sure. —Bob

What a ridiculously short-sighted programming decision. And to make matters worse, we are going to have to endure yet another Bobby Flay series along with the too-too-over-exposed Giada DeLaurentiis and, of course, the insufferable Guy Fieri. Catucci’s series has not “reached its natural end.” How do you gauge how popular a show is? Most of us watch You Gotta Eat Here! re-runs four or five times. Reconsider this cancellation or give John another vehicle. Don’t lose him. He’s a gem. —Michelle

Sour taste left on the palette with this news. YGEH is a great food/travel show that has no equal. Guy Fieri is an impossible personality to identify with, Bobby Flay is a bore, Giada has had more than enough time. I hope this only means the Food Network and John have something else cooking. John Catucci did wonders introducing me (and all of Canada) to great food in my own town I didn’t know was there. This is a foul meal to digest. —Dave

Dark Matter ups the ante—and welcomes returning faces—in Episode 3

Season 3 of Dark Matter has certainly kicked off with a bang, hasn’t it? After some initial distress, the remaining team members successfully reunited by the end of last Friday’s two-part return. Now they fly into uncharted territory as they seek out Ryo and punish him for killing Nyx, something he didn’t do. But, you know, misinformation is a bitch right?

Here’s what Space has officially revealed is the storyline for this week’s new episode, “Welcome to the Revolution,” written by Joseph Mallozzi and directed by Steve DiMarco.

After receiving a distress call from a former associate, the crew of the Raza find themselves in the middle of a colony’s fight for independence.

And here are some spoiler-free tidbits we can add after watching the episode.

The most notorious in the galaxy?
Our crew’s legendary tales are far-reaching and scores them respect—and drinks—from a group of folks that includes guest star Rachael Ancheril, most recently seen in Season 1 of Wynonna Earp. Oh, and keep your eyes peeled for Dennis Andres of Workin’ Moms in a pivotal role.

Look who’s back!
The Raza crew have come across some very interesting and entertaining characters over the past two seasons and one of them returns on Friday. Yes, that’s the “former associate” hinted at in the synopsis, and we were giddy as soon as we saw their face in the “previously on” teaser. This person’s situation results in an intense head-to-head between Two and Six over when they should fight and who they should fight for. Who do you think gets their way?

Sarah returns, too
Anthony Lemke told us Season 3 delves into Three’s journey, and that means one thing: more Sarah! Yup, Natalie Brown is back in “Welcome to the Revolution,” but not in a way you’d expect and it has a stunning effect on Three. We can’t wait to see where this story goes.

Ryo plays his game
I worried I’d lose interest in Four after he ascended the throne as Ryo, but he’s become one heck of a compelling character. Everyone has an end game, but what is Ryo’s? And why is he playing his court against one another?

You Gotta Eat Here! cancelled by Food Network Canada

The food-tasting food trip is over. You Gotta Eat Here!, hosted by John Catucci, has been cancelled by Food Network Canada after five seasons on the air.

“We are extremely proud of the volumes of strong Canadian original content we have delivered to audiences over the years,” Lisa Godfrey, vice-president of original content for Corus Entertainment, said in a statement. “After resonating with legions of fans, You Gotta Eat Here! has reached its natural end and has not been renewed for another season. The success this series had is a true testament to our exceptionally talented production partners, Lone Eagle Entertainment, and Corus applauds the cast, creators, producers, and writers for their dedication to this Canadian original. We remain firmly committed to developing standout original Canadian content and look forward to sharing more information about upcoming renewals and new series soon.”

Produced by Lone Eagle Entertainment, You Gotta Eat Here! featured comedian Catucci as he travelled across Canada—and to the odd city outside of this country—tasting food, getting his hands dirty making it and spotlighting the big and small-scale restaurants, eateries and watering holes folks should be trying out. Catucci, who never purported to be a chef (but has been churning out what looks like pretty delicious-looking high-end stuff on his Instagram page), was an inquisitive, funny and enjoyable host who clearly loved his job. It clearly resonated with fans and critics: the series debuted in 2012 and won Canadian Screen Awards for Best Lifestyle or Talk Program or Series in 2014 and 2017.

You Gotta Eat Here! is the latest series to be cancelled by Corus leading into the 2017-18 broadcast season. It joins HGTV Canada’s Timber Kings, Leave It to Bryan and Income Property as projects not moving forward with new episodes.

Saving Hope: A poltergeist wreaks havoc in Hope Zion

Last week’s episode of Saving Hope was one heck of a ride, from the drama in the operating room to the incredibly sweet moment when Alex and Dougie celebrated Martha’s life before sending her ashes off into the lake.

This Thursday’s new episode “Nightmares and Dreamscapes,” written by Ley Lukins, is equally engaging. Here’s what CTV has officially revealed:

Following a car accident involving three brothers, in which only one survives, Dr. Charlie Harris is faced with two spirits who beg him to do everything he can save their brother’s life. As Charlie and the team operate, he’s haunted by a mischievous ghost (Steve Arbuckle), who is determined to move on from the spirit world. Meanwhile, Dr. Sydney Katz and Dr. Shahir Hamza treat Trudy Stein (Teresa Pavlinek), a 40-year-old free spirit who impregnated herself and arrives at Hope Zion after suffering a fall. Meanwhile, Dr. Zach Miller and Dr. Maggie Lin deal with a mysterious man who comes into the E.R. covered in blood that is not his, and he doesn’t know how it got there.

Charlie and Alex
Alex may have given Charlie short shrift during the first half of this season, but he was there when she needed him when Martha passed away. The pair held hands during the lake-side memorial … but are they back together? As Facebook would say, it’s complicated.

Shahir and Jonathan seek an adoption
It turns out to be more of a challenge than either of them had considered and, unfortunately, puts pressure on the relationship.

Teresa Pavlinek guest stars
I’ve loved this very funny lady since I first saw her starring on The Jane Show, so I was thrilled to see her on Saving Hope. Her character, Trudy, is memorable for a couple of reasons, but most of all due to her connection with Sydney.

Spirit Blake returns …
… and seriously freaks Charlie—and me, and Alex—out.

TV Eh B Cs podcast 67 — The Tim Rozon Entree

Tim Rozon’s first major role was playing heartthrob, Tommy Quincy, opposite Alexz Johnson and Laura Vandervoort for four seasons on the teen drama series Instant Star for TeenNick and CTV. Other leading roles include two seasons playing Mutt Schitt on CBC’s runaway comedy Schitt’s Creek.

Tim has made guest appearances on many of the hit shows made in Canada over the last decade, including: Rookie Blue, Flashpoint, Heartland, Lost Girl and 19-2. In addition to acting, Tim produced the documentary feature Shuckers, about the world of oysters and those who shuck them.

When not acting, Tim plays the role of restaurateur in Montreal at his hit restaurants Garde Manger and Le Bremner opposite star chef Chuck Hughes.
